Štěpánek Netolický House can be found in the historic centre of town, in the Masaryk Square. There is a visitor centre and a permanent interactive educational exhibition dedicated to the Třeboň Fish Pond Building Heritage and the personality of the fish pond builder and architect Štěpánek Netolický. Besides the permanent exhibition, Štěpánek Netolický House also offers gallery spaces.
Štěpánek Netolický House is a pearl you must not miss. Not only does it have the most valuable arch of the whole Třeboň arcade and a wonderful hall with Renaissance wall paintings of the seven liberal arts, you can also see structural elements typical for other houses in the square – archway, mázhaus, Gothic vault, passage to the courtyard, courtyard gallery on cantilevers, housekeeping premises and a well, shared by two neighbouring houses. The house got its name from its famous owner, fish pond builder and builder of the Golden Canal and town fortifications Štěpánek Netolický, as we can see from the inscription between the windows. At present the Třeboň Fish Pond Building Heritage Centre is located here. In the exposition we can discover the secret of building fish pond systems and the crafts of the old Rosenberg fish pond builders. The unique gallery premises are also worth visiting.
