The town brewery, which was built at the same time as the Town Hall in a plot to its rear, suffered terrible damage during the fire of 1781. In 1832, the citizens of Třeboň decided to rebuild this as a theatre. With the utmost pomp and celebration, the theatre was opened the following year. In the auditorium hangs a chandelier made in the Nové Hrady Buquuoy glass works. In 1872, the famous artist, V. Skála from Písek, painted all the ceiling paintings, the paintings on the walls above the stage, and the painting on the main curtain, which depicts an allegorical scene of the arrival of Apollo with his followers to the town also created.
