Třeboň baths and healing powers of nature
Since long ago, the health resort in Třeboň has been tied with a natural curative source, which is abundant in this region - peat. It is used for healing of locomotor system disorders, rheumatic diseases, posttraumatic and postoperative dispositions, and general body recondition. Abundant reserves of peat from the peat bog led to the establishment of the Třeboň bath tradition in 80s of the 19th century. Today, the Třeboň baths offer stays and treatment in two bathhouses - in Berta''s Baths and Aurora Baths. Both bathhouses are the property of the town. Peat baths and poultices, massages, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and electrotherapy procedures, paraffin poultices, gas injections, acupuncture, etc. are used for treatment.
Quality boarding in elegant dining rooms is conducive to the pleasant stay in Třeboň baths. That is ensured by the latest kitchen equipment allowing the preparation of low-fat food. Clients can use the offer of full board with the selection of three to six kinds of meal (according to the board variant). An individual diet programme can be prepared if needed.
An appropriate addition to the curative stay is a varied offer of a cultural programme. The cultural departments organise tours to Czech (mostly South Bohemian) towns, castles, and manors as well as to Austria. A roofed tennis hall, which is open in summer and serves as a tennis court, is located at the Berta''s Baths.
Appropriate additions to the bath treatment are events organised for both bath guests and public on Pergola situated in the beautiful Třeboň countryside near the town. The Pergola has 100 places at roofed tables with a view to the system of ponds, with a possibility of serving drinks and a preparing specialities on the open fireplace, grill, or in the smoke-box. Also music performances held here, including dance on natural parquet are a pleasant experience. Around Pergola there are a hunting ground of Berta''s Baths and numerous ponds for sport fishing, which is one of the reasons why hunting and fishing parties are very popular.
